Juniper Off Campus Hiring – Technical Support Engineer
Job Title: Technical Support Engineer – Data Center Switching
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Bangalore
Overview:
This position involves providing Level 1 technical assistance at Juniper’s Technical Assistance Center (TAC), supporting the company’s campus and data center networking solutions, including EX, QFX, and QFabric product lines.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate efficiently in a fast-paced TAC setting, prioritizing customer satisfaction and quick issue resolution to deliver exceptional service.
- Act as the customer’s representative within the organization, ensuring timely problem resolution while considering the customer’s network environment and business impact.
- Own the technical issue from identification through resolution or appropriate escalation.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and be flexible to work during weekends or holidays if required.
- Stay updated with new technologies through continuous learning.
Essential Skills:
- Hands-on experience supporting Juniper’s networking products, specifically EX, QFX, and QFabric.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.
- Capable of troubleshooting complex and business-critical network issues.
- Prior experience supporting enterprise, telecom, or cloud networking infrastructures.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts such as:
- Switching protocols (e.g., xSTP, VRRP, LACP, Dot1x, CoS, QoS)
- IP fundamentals and protocols (e.g., ARP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP)
- Routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, RIP)
- Familiarity with multicast technologies (e.g., IGMP, IGMP snooping, PIM) is a plus.
- Scripting knowledge in Python, Perl, or Shell scripting (bash, ksh, csh) is an added advantage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science.
- 1–3 years of experience in the design, implementation, or support of IP networks.
- Experience in managing and resolving issues in large-scale IP networks is preferred.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Juniper, Cisco, Nortel, Huawei, and testing tools (e.g., Ixia, Agilent, protocol analyzers) is desirable.
