Job Description

The Transportation Team seeks a dedicated software programmer analyst tasked with collaborating with business operations to gather ship carrier requirements. You will work closely with transportation technology teams to integrate new carriers and shipping methods into our network. This integration role entails designing, developing, and maintaining transportation documents like shipping labels, carrier electronic manifests, and invoices. Additionally, you will contribute to Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects, including updating/enhancing current software, automating manual configuration processes, and documenting systems.

Your solutions directly impact our customers. This role demands adaptability and a quick learning curve to handle various tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate exhibits attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational abilities, multitasking prowess, independence, and professionalism under pressure. You must possess proactive problem-solving skills, anticipating and preempting issues with effective preventive measures. Prioritization skills are crucial, along with sound judgment, dedication to improving customer experience, and efficiency in task completion.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, with a focus on CS Fundamentals: Data Structures, Algorithms, Problem Solving, and Coding.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java (preferred), C++, or C#, or a scripting language like SQL, Perl, Python, XML, or Ruby.
• Ability to write clean code for basic data structures problems and algorithms in any chosen language.
• Familiarity with best practices in software engineering: design, testing, version control, documentation, build, deployment, and operations.
• Aptitude for understanding and troubleshooting application-level issues or internal tool problems with minimal guidance.
• Capacity to devise simple solutions without over-engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in software development and handling highly scalable systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for medium to complex issues.
• Exposure to AWS Technologies such as AWS S3, Dynamo DB, etc.
• Deep understanding of business objectives relevant to your team and stakeholders, and how applications or tools contribute to achieving these objectives.
