Job Roles & Responsibilities

The job responsibilities of this position include several tasks such as creating low-level design using UML, developing embedded software as per defined software requirements, and performing software integration and testing.

The key tasks and responsibilities involve writing software requirement specifications, creating designs for assigned modules, implementing the code for assigned requirements, performing unit testing, conducting peer reviews or inspection of software work products, supporting the testing team on defect analysis, and adhering to quality processes.

It is important for the person in this position to have a strong understanding of requirements and a keen eye for detail to ensure that the software development process is efficient and effective.

Qualifications & Skills

Candidates for this position should possess a B.E/B. Tech/M.Tech/Master’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent.

Additionally, they should have 0-4 years of experience in the design, development, and testing of embedded system software.

Good communication skills, both written and spoken in English, are essential.

Must-have skills include expertise in embedded C, electronics, RTOS, knowledge of microcontrollers (RISC, CISC), CAN communication, and protocols such as UDS, KWP2000, CANopen, and J1939.

They should also be familiar with MISRA standards 2000/MISRA 2012, SDLC, Agile Scrum, static analysis and tools such as LDRA or QAC or Vector cast, change management and tools such as JIRA/VSTS, version control and tools like SVN/GIT/Clearcase, traceability management and tools like Reqtify or equivalent, design methodologies such as UML, and software test life cycle.

Preference will be given to candidates with specialized knowledge in functional safety life-cycle and management as it applies to software design and development.

They should also be familiar with safety standards like IEC-61508, ISO-26262, ISO-25119, ISO-13849.
